Recently, the National Center for Philosophy and Social Sciences Documentation (NCPSSD) officially released the results of its selection. Economic and Social History Review, published by the Institute of European Civilization at Tianjin Normal University, was honored with the title of "Most Popular Chinese Journal (2016–2025)" and simultaneously recognized as a "2025 Most Popular Journal," in recognition of its sustained academic influence and broad reader approval.

The selection was based on massive reading data and user feedback from the NCPSSD over the past decade, covering Chinese journals in the field of philosophy and social sciences. By comprehensively assessing indicators such as readership and download volume, the top 50 most popular journals were determined. Economic and Social History Review stood out among history journals.

This latest honor once again affirms the two decades of academic dedication and accumulation by the editorial board of Economic and Social History Review under IEC: from its difficult beginnings as a collected papers series in 2005 to its current status as a three-time CSSCI source journal, an AMI Core Journal, a nominee for the Outstanding Historical Journal Award of the Guo Moruo Chinese History Award, and a repeated recipient of the "NCPSSD Most Popular Journal" and "Important Source Journal for the Selected Materials" titles.
