On 25 September, the conference of the Chinese Research Association of World Ancient and Medieval History, co-organized with Nanjing University and hosted by the School of History of Nanjing University, was held in Nanjing.

Dr Liu Jinghua, Prof. of Institute of European Civilization, Tianjin Normal University, was elected as the president of the Chinese Research Association of World Ancient and Medieval History on the conference.The researchers and teachers on Ancient and Medieval World History were present at the conference.

Founded in 1990, the Chinese Research Association of World Ancient and Medieval History is one of the most influential academic organizations in world history in China,which was registered and managed by the Chinese Ministry of Civil Affairs. The Seventh Council of the Society was elected on the conference, which will be in service in its five-year term (2022-2027). Professor Liu Jinghua was elected as the President of the Society for the Study of Ancient Medieval History of the World in China, which is the second time that aresearcher from IEC was electedas the president of the association after Professor Hou Jianxin served as the President (2009-2017).

Professor Peng Xiaoyu and Li Zheng from Peking University, professor Xu Haofrom Renmin University of China, professor Wang Yixin from Nankai University, professor Xiang Rong from Fudan University, professor Zhang Qiang and Wang Jinxin from Northeast Normal University, and professor Chen Hengfrom Shanghai Normal University were elected as vice-presidents. Researcher Liu Jianfrom the Institute of World History of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences was elected as the secretary-general and legal representative of the association.
