The Chinese National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences recently announced the list of Popular Academic Readings Project.Chinese Leaves: A Global History of Tea, written by Professor LIU Zhangcai of IEC won grant of the project.
The project, for the first time established by Chinese National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences, is aim to encourage scholars to write popular readings. It will promote excellent academic achievements to the public and only 30 works were selected.
Introduction to Chinese Leaves: A Global History of Tea
Based on the perspective of cultural communication, this book chronologically and systematically outlined the spread of the tea culture created by Chinese forefathers around the world and its profound impact. The book is richly illustrated and combines historical analysis with storytelling, which not only popularizes the knowledge of Chinese tea culture among readers, but also enhance their cultural confidence and deepen their understanding of civilization exchanges and mutual understanding.
