On April 19, 2025, 2025 Young Scholars Forum of China British History Association was held at Henan Normal University. The theme of the forum was "Frontiers and Major Issues in British History in the New Era," and over 60 young scholars and experts in British history from domestic research institutions and universities attended.
Some faculty and students of IEC were invited to participate and deliver presentations. Among them, Professor Gu Yanfang served as a commentator for the first sub-forum, providing critical remarks on papers related to "Roman Britain and Anglo-Saxon History." Associate Professor Zhao Wenjun acted as a commentator for the third sub-forum, offering evaluations on papers concerning "Modern British Economic and Social History." The young scholar, Assistant Researcher Wang Yuantian, presented a paper titled "Social Transformation and the Dilemma of Rights Protection: A Case Study of Early Modern English Peasant Land Disputes." Additionally, Sun Xiaoming, an editor from Economic and Social History Review, served as the moderator for the fourth sub-forum and engaged in a symposium with faculty members from Henan Normal University. She shared her editorial experienceon selecting precise topics and the norms and techniques of historical paper writing.
