​Chinese Academy of History Hosts Book Launch for European Civilizational Process (16 Volumes) and Forum on Mutual Learning Between Chinese and European Civilizations

On November 22, 2025, the Book Launch of The Evolution of European Civilization (16 Volumes) and the Forum on Exchanges and Mutual Learning between Chinese and European Civilizations were solemnly held. The event was hosted by the Chinese Academy of History, and co-organized by the Institute of World History of the Chinese Academy of History, the Institute of European Civilization of Tianjin Normal University, The Commercial Press, and the Institute of East Asian Studies of Northeast Normal University.

Distinguished guests at the conference included:Mr. Ma Yao, Senior Professor at Peking University, aged 93;Li Guoqiang, Member of the Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of the Chinese Academy of History; Liu Xincheng, Chair Professor at Capital Normal University and Strategic Expert at the Institute of Global and Area Studies of CNU; Gu Qing, Secretary of the Party Committee and Executive Director of The Commercial Press; Liu Zuokui, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Chinese Academy of History and Director of the Institute of World History; Chen Zhemin, Former Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Director of the Standing Committee of Tianjin Municipal People’s Congress; Xu Zhong, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee; Qu Kai, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin Normal University; Hou Jianxin, Senior Professor at Tianjin Normal University and Chief Editor of The Evolution of European Civilization (16 Volumes).

Representatives of eight authors of The Evolution of European Civilization (16 Volumes) were also present: Zhao Wenhong from the Institute of World Religion Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Liu Jinghua and Xu Bin from Tianjin Normal University; Cheng Handa from Shandong Normal University; Xu Hao from Renmin University of China; Long Xiuqing from Yunnan University; Chen Rihua from Nanjing University; Zhang Dianqing from Hebei University.

In total, more than 50 scholar representatives from 38 universities, publishing houses and research institutions across China attended the book launch and the Forum on Exchanges and Mutual Learning between Chinese and European Civilizations, marking an unprecedented gathering of distinguished scholars and publishing professionals.
