
On the afternoon of March 11, the editorial board of History Teaching came to the IEC for academic communication the with the editorial board ofEconomic and Social History Review. Both sides focused on journal construction, academic dissemination, publishing cooperation and other topics to carry out in-depth discussions, and seek new paths for the development of the discipline of history.

Professor Hou Jianxin, editor-in-chief of Economic and Social History Review, reviewed the historical development of the journal and emphasized that the journal should be “academic-centered”. Ren Shijiang, deputy editor-in-chief, who was the editor-in-chief of History Teaching, reviewed the historical origin of the two journals, affirmed and encouraged the work of History Teaching in recent years. He then deeply analyzed the types of topics, directions, and innovative initiatives of the two journals. The editors of both sides also exchanged views on specific issues such as journal editing and proofreading standards and journal evaluation system. Ren Jie, president of Tianjin Ancient Books Publishing House and editor-in-chief of History Teaching, introduced recent achievements of the journal, as well as the future focus and development path. She also pointed out that the editorial board will continue to optimize the editing process, improve academic quality, and promote the dissemination of academic achievements through book and journal linkage and international communication. Zhao Ziyuan, executive editor-in-chief, of History Teaching,indicated that through a series of reformation, the journal has set the standard of high-quality journals and cultivated its internal strengths in soliciting contributions, activity organization, and online dissemination.

Editor-in-chief Ren Jie concluded that both sides will further integrate resources and strengthen future cooperation in the planning of journal topics, academic book publishing and other aspects. Prof. Hou Jianxin highly agreed with it and proposed to establish a regular communication mechanism to provide a high-quality academic platform for history research and teaching. The editors of History Teaching, Wang Tiantian and Wang Xiangyang, and the editors of Economic and Social History Review, Han Weibin and Sun Xiaoming participated the meeting.
