A History of the Middle East Since the Birth of Islam: 610-2000 is an academic work onthe history and culture of Middle East countries. It was a research project funding by the Ministry of Education’s “New Age Magnificent Talents Supporting Program”. The author presented the historical civilization of Arab world and other regions of West Asia and North Africa and the modernization of the countries in this area. He also summarized basic features of traditional Islamic civilization, namely the religious and also secular state pattern, national ownership of the landsystem,and the social incompatibility of Muslim andnon-Muslim. And the historical process of modernization reflected in the rise of modern nation-state, absolutism of modernization model, the developing trendof industrialization, the evolution of land property, the development of agriculture, the changes of social life, the progress of constitutional system and democracy, and the secularism and Islamism.
