The Chinese and English versions of A New History of World War II, edited by Institute of World History, CASS, have been officially published and have drawn widespread attention in the academic community.Professor Geng Zhi of Institute of European Civilization, Tianjin Normal University(China) presided over the compilation of thesecond volume.
Professor Geng Zhi indicated that this book not only clearly took the September 18th Incident in 1931 as the starting point of the the Global War against Fascism, but also reinterpreted this war from the perspectives of a community with a shared future for mankind and global governance. According to the book, the outbreak of World War II stemmed, to some extent, from the failure of the global governance mechanism after World War I, and the victory of the Anti-Fascist Alliance safeguarded world justice and human civilization at a critical moment. This perspective emphasizes that the experiences and lessons of World War II have profoundly revealed the fundamental principle that the destinies of mankind are closely linked.
