Research Interests

My research directionis "the Economic and Social History of Europe", and compare with "the Economic and Social History of China". The author believes that the development of European "market economy" does not come out suddenly after the "Great Voyage", but comes from a relatively long historical process. As early as in the period of feudal territory in the middle ages, the early type of "market economy" (pre-market economy) hassprouted in Europe due to the existence of "contract principle".After the "great navigation", due to the large-scale development of world trade, the development of market economy has a broader turning space. Of course, in the early stage of the development of world trade, compared with China and India in the East, Europe's trade was in a "deficit" position. However, after Britain became a "maritime overlord", in order to gain a monopoly position in trade, Britain completely overwhelmed the East in production, and broke out the "industrial revolution". This is another great leap of productivity in human history after the"agricultural revolution" in the Neolithic age. As a result, the western world has gained huge commodity production capacity and commodity circulation capacity, and the market economy has become mature in an all-roundway. This kind of economy began to push forward from the coast to the mainlandin the global scope, which eventually led to the spread of market economy to the world. This view has been fully elaborated in the book the Development and Evolution of European Market Economy written by the author.
