Georgian Army Officers makes available and searchable digitised Army Lists published between 1790 and 1820. It allows access to the military careers of approximately 50,000 officers who served in the British Army during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, reconstructed from over 500,000 lines of data.

This database was created as part of the ‘Re-archiving the Individual: British Army Officers, 1790-1820’ project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

The project explored how we can reconstruct historical lives from archival records on a mass scale through the development of digital technologies that bring together sources in archives about individuals.
